Do you find yourself stumped on shopping sometimes: You missed the Farmers Market but you really want to buy local produce and you don’t like to shop online? Farm Link Hawaiʻi has hōʻiliʻili for you: It has done the work of gathering up produce and other local foods and now opened a seven-days-a-week market in Mōʻiliʻili for your convenience. The store is aptly named Hōʻiliʻili Market & Deli.

At Hōʻiliʻili you’ll find sparkling produce from a variety of farms, many cuts of meat, fresh dairy (island milk!), eggs, and bread, as well as local prepared foods and some dry goods. It’s really a mini farmers market that’s ready for you to drop by, any day. Plus, the store is dishing up fresh-baked pizza, by the pie or the slice, and an array of sandwiches, soups, and salads to go. If you like, you can nosh at one of the small tables available just outside the front door. (Note that hot food isn’t available Sunday or Monday.)

A full array of fresh, local vegetables and fruits is stocked daily.

The store is a natural extension of the mission Farm Link Hawaiʻi has held since its inception in 2015 to “increase local food production and make good food accessible to all.”

One of Farm Link’s goals is to make it easier for producers to get their products to consumers. It’s super-efficient for farmers and other producers to deliver once, to Farm Link, instead of having to make rounds to various stores and restaurants. With Farm Link, they can focus more on producing than marketing. That’s one part of increasing local food/ag self-sufficiency. The second part of the equation is consumers. Here, Farm Link’s goal is to make it a lot easier for consumers to purchase from a variety of local makers, because their products are all offered in one place. So, for anything local--quite literally soup to nuts, and even beer, rum, and vodka--you can go to the store, or you can order online. Another consumer convenience, Farm Link can deliver online orders to your house, as soon as next day, anywhere on Oʻahu except a military base. Plus, if you are paying with EBT/SNAP, at Hōʻiliʻili or online, you get 50% off all fruit, produce, and poi.
