Farm Link is an online hub for local foods, including produce, dairy, bakery items, and meats/seafood. Forage boasts a wide selection of local beef, pork, chicken, venison, lamb, goat, and wild boar. Eating local, they believe, benefits the environment and human health. Visit them at Kakaʻako Farmers Market (Saturday, 8 AM–noon), Kailua Farmers Market (Sunday, 8 AM–noon), or their warehouse (Friday, noon–5 PM, 1001 Dillingham Blvd, Unit 110, Honolulu). Pre-order online for pickup; orders for Friday–Sunday must be placed by Thursday noon.
Gunstock Ranch
Gunstock Ranch in Kahuku raises grass-fed beef, selling ground beef ($8/lb; cash, credit, or check) and whole or half cows (email beef@gunstockranch.com for the waiting list). Hapa Market and Grill
Hapa Market sells USDA wild-harvested venison (Maui, Molokaʻi) and grass-finished beef (Hawaiʻi Island). J. Ludovico Farm
J. Ludovico Farm in Kahaluu raises pasture-raised chickens in movable coops. Whole chickens and parts ($5.50/lb, 2.75–5 lbs) are available by pre-order (email jludovicofarm@gmail.com or call/text 808-628-0603) for pickup Tuesday or Thursday. Retail outlets like Nijiya Market, Foodland Kahala, Foodland Farms, The Local General Store, and KualoaGrown carry their chickens at a markup.
KualoaGrown
KualoaGrown, Kualoa Ranch’s agricultural arm, raises beef, pork, lamb, shrimp, and oysters, plus produce. Their market (49-560 Kamehameha Hwy, Kaneohe) is open daily, 10 AM–5 PM. Contact: 808-748-3238.
The Local General Store
The Local General Store in Kaimuki is a butcher shop and bakery. They source whole-carcass beef (Makaha), pork (Waianae), lamb (Maui), and chicken (Waialua). Offerings include sausages, bacon, pates, soups, and marinated meats. The bakery uses local ingredients in croissants and Danishes.
